BTW, have you heard of Kevin Johansen? If not, must get his CD. He's half gringo, half Argentine and lives in BA, sings in both English and Spanish and has some very funny songs, especially if you're a gringo who's lived there: 'Che Donald's/McGuevarra's' 'Everyone who comes here wants to stay. Everyone from here wants to move to Spain.' It's funny, that thing I wrote about Palermo was just kind of in my file of Buenos Aires stories and wasn't really meant for publication...you'll notice it ends abruptly. I lived in Palermo for 3 years (93-95) and absolutely loved it. I also know the tren to Tigre very well and enjoyed that trip many times. As I wasn't into sailing at that point I'm sure to have not seen the same things you have but your description sent me down a trip of memory lane. I did bing back a couple of souveniers from BsAs though...a wife and daughter. All in all, 3 of the best years of my life.
